Family Activity for May, Month of Mary

The month of May is dedicated to Mary. One way to honor Mary is to make a small family May altar.

Set aside a space on a desk or a table. Use a tablecloth, a placemat, or a table runner. Even a homemade placemat will work. Put a vase of flowers and a statue of Mary there if you have one. Children can also make drawings of Mary and place them there.

Let the children take turns changing the water for the flowers, adding new flowers, and tidying up the May altar.

From time to time, gather around the May altar and say a Hail Mary. If you can find time, say a rosary together.
