The Morning Offering

I went on a CRHP (Christ Renews His Parish) retreat this past weekend. It was a fabulous experience and I met a lot of wonderful ladies. If you ever have the opportunity, take advantage of it. It is important that we renew our own spirituality from time to time. As parents we can become focused on raising the children and neglect our own spiritual needs.

As a result of my weekend experience, I am going to try to improve my own daily spirituality. I am starting small, in order to keep in manageable. So I am resolving to say the Morning Offering every day. I love the sentiment in this traditional Catholic prayer, that every thing we experience throughout the day be offered to God.

The Morning Offering

O Jesus,
through the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
I offer You my prayers, works,
joys and sufferings
of this day for all the intentions
of Your Sacred Heart,
in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass
throughout the world,
in reparation for my sins,
for the intentions of all my relatives and friends,
and in particular
for the intentions of the Holy Father.
