Pope John Paul II: As the family goes, so goes the nation…

Pope John Paul II had many wonderful things to say on many subjects. As a parent, I find his thoughts on the family especially meaningful.

One of the things he said was

As the family goes, so goes the nation and so goes the whole world in which we live.

This is why the way we raise our children is so important. They are our future Church, our future leaders, our future movers and shakers. The values we instill in them today will have lasting effects. On the flip side, the values we fail to instill will be diminished or lost.

What do we want the future to look like? We are shaping it today by making the effort in our Catholic families.
